About Us
Founded in 2006 in Kalamazoo, the Michigan Coalition for Progress is an independent progressive voice for the people of Michigan dedicated to holding our elected political leaders accountable. We are bringing people together to elect progressive leaders who are committed to moving Michigan forward.
For way too long, conservative Republicans in the state legislature have stood in the way of the change we need to move Michigan forward. It's time to put Michigan first.
For the 2006 Michigan election, we ran an integrated campaign to help elect progressive state legislators, including re-electing Governor Jennifer Granholm. Our work in Michigan helped keep a progressive in the Governor's mansion and elect a Democratic majority in the State House of Representatives including a couple new progressives, as well as a new progressive Democratic seat in the State Senate. Read more about our accomplishments in 2006 and the issues we're working on in Michigan politics. Please note that the Coalition for Progress does not endorse specific candidates.
